1962: Training for Citizenship Education Classes

Victoria Gray Adams: I started out as a supporter, strictly supportive of their efforts… That was my mode with the exception of determined to become registered to vote, as that became more and more futile… forcing about the Citizenship Education Training Program… and they invited me to come. They couldn't get anybody else to come. So, I said if you can find somebody else, do. If you can't find anybody else, then I'll go. So, they couldn't find anybody else. So, I went. And of course, upon return, you know the objective of the Citizenship Education classes was to come back into your community and replicate it. You know, replicate the training. So, that's what I started to do.
