Abstract

In these notes on an interview with white civil rights activist William Campbell,  Charles Marsh documents Campbell's opposition to the Committee of Southern Churchmen's lawsuit against the FBI. Campbell argues that the FBI should not release information on the wrongdoings of civil rights activists because those actions would be both irrelevant and harmful to the activists' families. Campbell goes on to discuss his strong faith in Jesus Christ but simultaneous lack of church affiliation. To Campbell, theology becomes important when people implement it to improve their communities and the lives of others, rather than studying it in isolation.
