Abstract

In this book, author Will D. Campbell discusses the presence of racial segregation and its relationship to America's Christian denominations. Through his book, Campbell attempted to examine society's problems, specifically racial segregation, from a theological lens. He wrote the book for an audience of concerned laypeople. He emphasized that racial hatred transcended just the South and that it comprised a national problem. Campbell used evidence from various passages throughout the Bible to point out that the Christ's Church could not exclude any group from its community of worship.
