Abstract 

In this article, the author reports that in Camden, South Carolina hooded men flogged Guy Hutchens, the band director of the local white high school, for allegedly verbalizing pro-integration sentiments. Hutchens reported that the assailants acted as though they knew him before they came aggressive and violent.
