Abstract 

In this article, the author reports about the repercussions of Rosa Parks’s decision to remain seated in the white section of bus in Montgomery in spite of the bus driver’s insistence that she move. The reporter states that almost 90 percent of African Americans in Montgomery chose to boycott the city’s bus lines, and that segregated transportation was put into legal question.
