Abstract

In this article, the author writes about the boycotts of and sanctions put on Koinonia Farms in 1957 because of its inclusiveness of African Americans. These boycotts and sanctions quickly crippled Koinonia farm's economic situation. Townspeople in Americus, Georgia enacted these measures in protest after witnessing African-American children sharing food and walking with white children on the grounds of Koinonia Farms.
