Abstract

In this article, the author describes the challenges the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) faces as they attempt to infiltrate the Ku Klux Klan (KKK) in Mississippi. With the rapidly growing membership of the KKK, and the increase in “Klaverns” or local KKK chapters without documentation, the FBI has trouble keeping up. The author lauds the FBI’s spirit and courage, as well as its organizational skills.
