Abstract

In this document, interviewer Charles Marsh briefly notes the topics of discussion in his interview of Ken Dean, a Southern Baptist minister from Mississippi. Dean spoke about Victor Smith, a Presbyterian spokesman for the Citizen’s Council, and Sam Bowers, the Imperial Wizard for the Ku Klux Klan (KKK). He also discusses a missionary couple’s arrival at his church, and the parallel that they drew between the Civil Rights Movement and their own work. The document ends with a note about Ken Dean’s prostate cancer, and work for an African-American mayor in the area of race relations.
