Abstract

In this poem given to Civil Rights Movement leader Ed King and his wife Jeanette during 1964, author Jane Stembridge discusses the inevitable repression and confinement experienced by human beings.  Stembridge ends the poem by acknowledging that people usually find themselves marginalized or isolated in some way and simply adapt to that situation.
