Abstract

In this letter to prominent civil rights activist Fannie Lou Hamer, author Peter McNamara expresses admiration for Hamer's activism and encloses a donation to her cause in the form of a check.  McNamara had heard Hamer speak on the New York City radio station WBAJ and was so inspired that he composed this letter to her.  Apologizing for the cruel behavior of "my fellow whites," McNamara thanked Hamer for influencing others to become better people
