Abstract

The author reports what he or she perceives as the obvious influence of liberal, left-wing politics on the Delta Ministry. The author points out various Delta Ministry members' affiliations with "such militant groups" as the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee (SNCC), the Council of Federated Organizations (COFO), and Martin Luther King's Southern Christian Leadership Conference (SCLC). The author further points out the connection between Delta Ministry members and the Communist Party. Specifically, Hodding Carter of the Greenville Delta Democratic Times criticized the Delta Ministry as too militan and revolutionary. He called the group members "enept, inefficient revolutionaries who are failing by their own standards."
