Carlton Owen Morales
Originally from Jamaica, Carlton Owen Morales worked at a mental institution, with the residents of a leper colony, and the inmates of a Panama prison before accepting pastoral duties at the Episcopal Church of the Redeemer in Greensboro, North Carolina. Father Morales urged his parishioners to champion social justice from a God-centered perspective. He pastored Cleveland Sellers after Sellers’s return to Christianity. Father Morales retired from the church in 1999, after thirty-three years of service.
