Abstract

M.L. Young, an African-American Methodist minister from Jackson, Mississippi, writes a letter to the editor deploring the sacrilegious behavior of members of the Southern Christian Institute near Edwards, Mississippi. The author, President of the Mutual Association of Colored People, writes that these people's immoral behavior undermines their efforts as civil rights workers. He hopes that the National Council of Churches will remove them from the Civil Rights Movement, and from Mississippi's Head Start Program.
